2. Overview

This website is a portfolio for video editing and motion design. Personal data is processed only where necessary to operate the website, to handle inquiries and to carry out orders, or where you have given consent. This website does not use analytics or tracking services, advertising cookies, external fonts or social media plugins.

3. Hosting and Cloudflare

The website is hosted on Cloudflare Pages, a service provided by Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend St., San Francisco, CA 94107, USA, which acts as a technical service provider. When you visit the website, Cloudflare processes technically necessary connection data, in particular your IP address, the date and time of the request, the requested address, and browser and operating system information. Cloudflare may use technically necessary cookies or similar technologies.

Purpose and legal basis: delivering and securing the website; Article 6(1)(f) UK GDPR (legitimate interest in a functional and secure website). Transfers to the USA rely on the UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework (the UK-US data bridge) or, where that does not apply, on the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or Addendum. More information: cloudflare.com/privacypolicy.

4. Cookies and local storage

This website itself does not set cookies and does not store information on your device (no local storage). For technically necessary cookies set by Cloudflare, see section 3.

5. Inquiry form

If you use the inquiry form, I process the data you enter: name, email address, requested service, project details, where applicable deadline and budget, and billing details (client type, company name, address, country, where applicable VAT number, invoice email address, phone number and reference number). The time of the inquiry is also recorded.

Purpose: handling your inquiry, preparing quotes, and preparing and performing contracts and invoices.

Legal basis: Article 6(1)(b) UK GDPR (steps taken at your request before entering into a contract, and performance of a contract). Where you have given consent, also Article 6(1)(a); you may withdraw consent at any time with effect for the future. Legal record-keeping obligations rely on Article 6(1)(c).

Required information: fields marked with * are required to handle your inquiry. All other information is voluntary.

Storage and recipients: your submission is held temporarily in Cloudflare's storage service (Cloudflare Workers KV) until it is collected, after which it is deleted from there and stored on the controller's own computer. Your data is not passed on to third parties for advertising purposes. If an order is placed, your billing details may be transferred to invoicing or accounting software and, where necessary, shared with an accountant or tax adviser.

Retention: inquiries that do not lead to an order are deleted once the purpose no longer applies and no legal retention obligation prevents it. Invoices and accounting records are kept for the periods required by UK tax law (generally at least six years).

Abuse protection: to protect against spam, your IP address is used briefly to limit the number of submissions and is not stored permanently (Article 6(1)(f) UK GDPR).

6. Contact by email and links to X

If you write to me by email, I process your details to handle your request (Article 6(1)(b) or (f) UK GDPR). The website contains a link to my profile on X. No plugin is embedded; the privacy terms of X apply only once you click the link.

7. Embedded third-party videos

Projects on this website may include videos from third-party providers: YouTube (Google), Vimeo (Vimeo, Inc., USA), Streamable and Google Drive (Google). When you open the website, no connection to these providers is made. The provider's player is loaded only once you click "Load video" in the video view. In that case, data, in particular your IP address, browser and device information and the page visited, is transmitted to the provider, and the provider may use cookies or similar technologies. A transfer to the USA is possible. For YouTube, enhanced privacy mode (youtube-nocookie.com) is used.

Legal basis: your consent, given by clicking "Load video" (Article 6(1)(a) UK GDPR and regulation 6 of the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003). You can withdraw consent at any time by closing the video or reloading the page; your consent is not stored separately. Videos delivered directly from this website do not trigger a connection to third parties.

Providers' privacy policies: Google/YouTube · Vimeo · Streamable

8. Your rights

Under the UK GDPR you have the right to access your data (Article 15), rectification (Article 16), erasure (Article 17), restriction of processing (Article 18) and data portability (Article 20). You may object at any time to processing based on Article 6(1)(f) on grounds relating to your particular situation (Article 21) and withdraw any consent at any time (Article 7(3)). Please contact me by email at benr@peakje.com.
